The history of this church, standing in the corner of Proszowice's main square, probably reaches into 14th or 15th century but there are no definitive source materials from back then. It is sure though that on June 22, 1824, a violent storm destroyed the front wall and the roof of the main nave, so its current look is a result of a reconstruction that lasted until 1836. A brickwalled belfry standing next to the church was built in 1946-1948 in place of a previous one, destroyed during the World War II.
