This observatory is located in an old fort on the outskirts of Kraków. We are standing in front of the dome containing the largest telescope here, a 50-centimetre Cassegrain.

In an open coffin lies the body of Mikołaj Gostkowski, the Burgrave of Kraków who died in 1827 and was buried dressed in a kontusz, a traditional garment of the gentry.
